What are Ecuador’s and the Galapagos Islands’ entry requirements?

  • Documentation proving completion of the whole vaccination course, such as a certificate or QR code that is good for at least 14 days from the date of completion. Or
  • A negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result verified by a laboratory, obtained no later than 72 hours before to the aircraft’s departure. Click this link to view the authorized laboratory list.

To board the airplane and proceed to Ecuador, each passenger has to present the electronic copy of their Traveler’s Health Declaration. You may complete the online form by clicking this link. On arrival, or before to departure, you can also fill out a printed copy.

Notes on the Galapagos entry:

  • You have to fill out a Galapagos Transit Control Card in person at the airport or online prior to the trip.
  • A travel insurance certificate is required.

 Notes about Ecuador’s entry:

  • Medical staff members will also check passengers for COVID-19 symptoms. In cases where suspicions are raised, an urgent test will be required. If the test is successful, passengers will have to spend 10 days by themselves, finding their own housing at their own cost. If the test comes out negative, the traveler can carry on with their trip.

Can I travel to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands?

Yes, in fact. Travel between Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands has not been interrupted since July 2020. The country and its archipelago saw a remarkably successful vaccination campaign. 99% of individuals in the Galapagos are well inoculated.

Travel to and from the Galapagos Islands is subject to the same laws that govern travel within Ecuador.

What must I do in order to get back to the United States?

Currently present a negative COVID-19 test result that was received no more than 24 hours before travel. Please don’t forget to regularly verify information from official sources.

Never hesitate to get in touch with your destination specialist if you have any queries or worries.
